Abstract:
»In populären rape plots stehen sich oftmals zwei Handlungsoptionen für die Betroffenen gegenüber: Die Rache an den Täter*innen oder die Selbsttötung. Der Aufsatz untersucht das Verhältnis zwischen diesen Extremen anhand der Serien Big Little Lies und 13 Reasons Why. Im Fokus stehen dabei die dramaturgischen Funktionen der Trias Rape / Revenge / Suicide sowie ihr Potenzial für feministische Verhandlungen von sexualisierter Gewalt. Die Serieninhalte und -ästhetiken werden mit Erkenntnissen der Psychologie zu Vergeltungs- und Todesfantasien in Folge von sexualisierten Übergriffen abgeglichen sowie Bezüge zu film- und kulturhistorischen Tropen wie die ‚gefallene Frau‘ und der weibliche Wassersuizid dargelegt.«
